Ubisoft’s video game adaptation of popular Assassins Creed franchise is officially in the works by film studio 20th century Fox. Chief Executive Officer Yves Guillemot announced on Thursday,
Slated for 21st December 2016, the film is set to star Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds, X-men First Class) and Marion Cotilard (Inception, Dark Knight Rises) as the two leads.
It is rumoured that Robert Downey Jr has signed on to play Leonardo Da Vinci in which the famous inventor provided gadgets and weapons to assist the protagonist Ezio in his quests.
The film will follow a separate narrative from the games but will most likely maintain the premise of an everyday individual who has been selected to live out his ancestor’s life.
Ubisoft were also the company responsible in giving Prince of Persia the movie treatment in 2010.
